David Ben

David Ben is recognized as one of the great sleight-of-hand artists living today. He is the sole protégé of Ross Bertram, and was the confidant and close friend of many of magic’s luminaries including P. Howard Lyons, Stewart James and Herb Zarrow. His theatrical shows, The Conjuror, The Conjuror’s Suite, Tricks, Natural Magick, and Card Table Artifice have received much critical acclaim. David is also an author. In addition to his own books, Tricks and Advantage Play, David is the official biographer of Dai Vernon, and is considered as a world-authority on Erdnase. His recent book, The Experts at the Card Table, is a ‘must have’ for any serious student of card table artifice.

David also acts as a magic consultant for a wide range of museum, theatre, television, film and publishing projects and acts as a keynote speaker on creativity, innovation and problem solving. A feature presenter at The Walrus Talks (Performance), IdeaCity, and a two-time presenter at the Smithsonian, David has addressed a broad range of associations and corporate clients in the United States and Canada. David is also the co-founder and Artistic Director of Magicana, an arts organization and registered charity dedicated to the exploration and advancement of magic as a performing art.
